WORKSHOPS & EXPERIENCES

Psychology becomes more interesting when you can see yourself in the story.

Real Talk Reset workshops bring Jungian psychology out of the textbook and into the stories, relationships, dreams, myths, characters, and experiences that already fascinate us.

Through conversation, imagery, reflection, audience participation, and interactive exercises, complex psychological ideas become something we can recognize in our own lives.

THE EXPERIENCE

Not just a lecture.

The most interesting psychological ideas are often the ones we suddenly recognize in ourselves. That is why these workshops are designed around participation, curiosity, storytelling, and discovery rather than simply listening to someone explain a theory.

Depending on the topic and setting, a workshop may include audience polls, image association, fictional characters, myths, dream material, writing prompts, guided reflection, small-group conversation, archetype exercises, case examples, and audience discussion.

You don't need to know anything about Jung before you walk into the room.

The psychology comes alive through the experience.

SIGNATURE EXPERIENCES

Signature workshop experiences.

These workshop concepts can be adapted for different audiences, settings, and lengths.

THE PSYCHOLOGY OF SUPERHEROES

Archetypes, heroes, villains, and the stories we can't stop telling.

Why do superhero stories appear again and again across generations? This interactive workshop explores the Hero, Shadow, Trickster, Mentor, Ruler, Warrior, and other archetypal patterns through the characters and stories that populate contemporary culture.

Participants explore why certain heroes fascinate us, why compelling heroes so often need equally compelling villains, and what these stories may reveal about our own psychological lives.

FROM GODS TO SUPERHEROES

The ancient stories are still being told. The costumes have changed.

Gods, goddesses, warriors, tricksters, monsters, journeys, battles, transformations, and impossible quests have fascinated human beings for thousands of years.

This workshop explores how archetypal patterns found in mythology continue to reappear in contemporary movies, comics, fantasy, science fiction, and storytelling. Participants are invited to recognize the ancient patterns hiding inside modern stories.

WHY DOES THIS PERSON TRIGGER ME?

Complexes, projection, and the psychology of emotional activation.

Sometimes another person's behavior creates a reaction in us that feels much larger than the immediate situation. Why?

Through accessible Jungian ideas about complexes and projection, participants explore what emotional triggers can reveal, why certain relationship patterns repeat, and how becoming curious about our reactions can open a different kind of conversation with ourselves.

Relationships • Complexes • Self-awareness

04

DREAMS ARE MESSAGES

Learning to listen to the symbolic language of dreams.

Dreams communicate through strange rooms, animals, strangers, houses, journeys, water, conflict, impossible events, and images we may not consciously understand.

This interactive introduction to Jungian dream work shows participants how to approach a dream with curiosity rather than immediately searching for a fixed interpretation. Through sample dream material and image exploration, participants experience how a dream can become a conversation rather than a puzzle to solve.

05

MEETING YOUR SHADOW

What the people and qualities we reject may reveal about ourselves.

The shadow is often misunderstood as simply the "bad" part of ourselves. In Jungian psychology, it includes qualities, impulses, capacities, and possibilities that may have fallen outside the identity we consciously recognize as ourselves.

Through characters, relationships, reactions, and guided reflection, participants explore what we judge, envy, idealize, reject, or repeatedly encounter in other people and what those reactions might reveal.

Shadow • Projection • Self-discovery

06

IF YOUR LIFE WERE A MYTH, WHAT CHAPTER ARE YOU IN?

An interactive exploration of transition, identity, and the stories beneath our lives.

Are you leaving home? Wandering in the wilderness? Fighting the dragon? Descending into the underworld? Searching for something lost? Returning home? Becoming the ruler of your own kingdom?

Using mythic patterns as a playful framework, participants explore where they may currently find themselves in the story of their own lives. This workshop introduces archetypal psychology through experiences people already understand: change, uncertainty, challenge, loss, discovery, transformation, and return.

WHY STORIES WORK

Stories give psychology a face.

An elegant visual transition from an ancient marble mask in shadow into the glowing golden silhouette of an original modern heroic figure

It can be difficult to understand an abstract idea such as the Shadow, the Hero, projection, a complex, or an archetype when we encounter it only as theory.

But show us a character, a myth, a relationship, or a story and suddenly we can see the pattern.

Popular culture gives us an extraordinary modern mythology. Superheroes, villains, fantasy worlds, science fiction, fairy tales, films, television, and literature continually recreate psychological themes human beings have wrestled with for thousands of years.

Sometimes we recognize ourselves more easily in a story before we can recognize ourselves directly.

START WITH A QUESTION

Have an idea that isn't listed here?

Some of the most interesting workshops begin with a question. If your event, organization, convention, or group has a particular theme, we can explore whether a Real Talk Reset workshop can be developed or adapted around it.

Topics may draw from Jungian psychology, archetypes, mythology, dreams, relationships, complexes, shadow, identity, symbolism, and popular culture.

Tell me about your audience and what you want them talking about on the way home.

A NOTE ABOUT WORKSHOPS
